Práca sa zaoberá stratou blízkej osoby. Nemyslím však smrť, mám na mysli pomalé postupné
strácanie sa.
Čerpala som z obdobia, kedy moja stará mama trpela Alzheimerovou chorobou. Prostredníctvom
práce spomínam na to dobré, ale aj na to skľučujúce. Na momenty, kedy som ju stále fyzicky mala pri
sebe, ale jej myseľ bola preč, spoločné spomienky boli preč a v konečnom momente som bola preč aj
ja.
Vankúše predstavujú pokoj a mäkkosť, ktoré dokázala priniesť do môjho života, moje príjemné
spomienky na detstvo. Jej osobnosť. Na druhej strane „pavučina“ predstavuje negatíva, ktoré jej
choroba spôsobila. Pavučina je chorobou, ktorá sa pretlačila na povrch a zakryla všetko nežné, čo v
nej bolo.
Inštalácia však predstavuje aj celé moje vnímanie jej strácania sa. Človek môže pristúpiť, oprieť sa o
pokoj, je to však iba ilúzia pokoja. Moje šťastné spomienky sú navždy obalené negatívnymi. Opri sa o
to príjemné, pocíť mäkkosť, prídeš však do konfrontácie s chaosom.

The work deals with the loss of a loved one. However I don´t mean death, I mean the slow and gradual loss of the self.

I drew from the period when my grandmother suffered from Alzheimer´s. Through this work, I remember the good as well as the disheartening. The moments when I still had her physically close to me, yet her mind was gone, our shared memories were gone, and in the end, I was gone too.

The pillows represent the calm and the softness she was able to bring to my life, my pleasant memories of childhood. Her personality. On the other hand the „web“ represents all the negative her illness caused. The web is the illness that was pushed to the surface and covered the tenderness that was in her.

The installation also represents, my perception of her losing herself. One can take a step forward and lean against the calm, but that´s just an illusion of peace. My happy memories are forever wrapped in the negative ones. Lean against the nice, feel the softness, yet you´ll come to confront the chaos.
