In the digital and virtual spheres, “disappearance” is becoming increasingly difficult due to our so-called digital footprint. It is necessary to delete social networks, posts, activity on various forums, but also mentions on various sites, which is impossible without an official approach. I’ve read a book by Aldous Huxley called Doors of Perception, which also includes a philosophical essay, Heaven and Hell. The whole idea of this project is based on that book. In the book, Huxley writes about our perception of reality and how it distorts with time. For example, when we were children, our perception of reality was a first-hand experience. The idea of the video is to make the spectator realize his identifications and to realize it’s his choice to keep them or create more of them. If the identifications, of who I am, disappear, I disappear too. The video explains itself good enough.
