VENUS

Woman has been the symbol of fertility and motherhood ever since. Women are under a constant surveillance that is making women doubt themselves. Why is it like this? Why do we feel the need to be liked instead of showing our true nature? Are we really that influenced by the environment, social networks and the false reality displayed there? How important the body image and appearance really is? Does it determine her position in the society? Is it really what makes a woman herself and does it show her true qualities?
These are the questions I was trying to answer in this semestrial work. I was trying to embody the feelings of a woman that is searching for the elusive answers to these questions.
The feeling of uncertainty is growing stronger as she is delving deeper into the topic. One of the issues I had to deal with was the obssession of society with bodies and especially female ones. Therefore, the problem question was: does a woman have to show her body to attract attention? Does she, on her way to success, have to be scanned and surveilled by other people? And does this surveillance result in a warped image of herself?
